EPL: Some Of The Results From The Weekend

The weekend saw various fixtures from various leagues played across Europe. The English Premier League in particular entertained football lovers all over the world with some mouth-watering games,which went down on Sunday.

For a start,the Red Devils of Manchester Untied seemed to have found their mojo back,when they traveled faraway to Carrow Road,home ground of Norwich City,and earned a well deserved victory,as they defeated their host team by 3 goals to 1.

United first found the back of the net,when youngster Scott Mc Tominay,found the back of the net at the 21st minute of the game,to give his team the lead. 9 minutes after the first goal,the Red Devil’s forward Marcus Rashford,doubled the lead at the 29th minute to give United a two-goal advantage over Norwich City. The 44th minute of the game also saw a penalty-kick awarded to United,which Anthony Martial stepped-up to take but,missed thus,ending the first half with a 2 goal advantage.

The second 45 minutes,also gave its own fair share of excitements,as United tripled their lead at the 73rd minute,with a goal by Antony Martial. Norwich City soon had a consolation when,at the 88th minute,Onel Hernandez put a goal at the back of the net. The game ended 3 goals to 1,which now puts United at the 7th position on the tables with 13 points from 10 games.

Arsenal FC also welcomed Crystal Palace to the Emirate Stadium,in a game that saw both teams share points after 90 minutes.

The Gunners went ahead first when,at the 7th minute into the first half of the encounter,Sokratis put the ball into the back of the net to give the home boys a goal advantage. Two minutes into game,former Chelsea defender,David Luiz doubled the lead of the Gunners with a goal at the 9th minute. Nevertheless,the 32nd minute saw a penalty awarded to the visitors,which was duly converted into goal by Crystal Palace forward,Luka Millivojevic,to give the visitors a life-line.

The second 45 minutes saw a rejuvenated Crystal Palace with a great come-back when,at the 52nd minute, the Ghanaian star,Jordan Ayew,converted a splendid header into goal,to equalize for Crystal Palace. The match ended on a draw,with Arsenal maintaining 5th position on the tables with 16 points out of 10 games. Crystal Palace comes 6th on the tables,with 15 points out of 10 games,leaving them just a point beneath the Gunners.

The peak of the fixtures came when table leaders Liverpool,played host to Tottenham Hotspur at the Anfield Stadium in a very thrilling encounter. The very first minute of the game,saw shocker from the visitors,when English striker,Harry Kane,scores with a splendid header,to give the visitors an early lead in the game. Much of the first half went by and eventually ended,with the visitors still maintaining their one goal advantage of the home Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The second 45 minutes began with the excitement seen during the first-half. It took only 5 minutes into the game before Liverpool found their footing with a goal by Jordan Henderson,to pull an equalizer for Liverpool at the 50th minute. Much of the game went by until the Jurgen Klopp’s men proved why they are table leaders,when they went ahead with a goal Egyptian forward,Mohammed Salah,at the 75th minute of the game,through a penalty-kick. The game eventually came to an end in favor of the home team. This means that Liverpool maintain their lead as table leaders,with a total of 28 points out of 10 games so far,in the English Premier League.
